...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in Connecticut... Connecticut River At Middle Haddam affecting Middlesex County. Connecticut River At Hartford affecting Hartford and Middlesex Counties. For the Connecticut River...including Hartford, Middle Haddam... Minor flooding is forecast. * WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Connecticut River at Hartford. * WHEN...Until further notice. * IMPACTS...At 21.0 feet, Flooding is expected along the river in portions of Wethersfield, Glastonbury and Rocky Hill. The high waters and swift flows will disrupt some cross river ferry services. Upstream of Hartford flooding will continue to affect portions of Windsor. Immediate river roads may become impassable. Further downstream flooding will likely result in the evacuation of low lying areas along River Road in Cromwell and River Road in Portland. Flooding increases along the river from Middletown to Old Saybrook. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 2:30 AM EDT Friday the stage was 15.0 feet. - Bankfull stage is 16.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage tomorrow evening and continue rising to 21.1 feet Sunday evening. - Flood stage is 16.0 feet. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Information: Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks. * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Portions of northern Connecticut, including the following areas, Hartford CT and Tolland CT and western Massachusetts, including the following areas, Eastern Franklin MA, Eastern Hampden MA, Eastern Hampshire MA, Western Franklin MA, Western Hampden MA and Western Hampshire MA. * WHEN...Through Saturday morning. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Moderate to heavy rains Friday morning through Saturday morning will bring 2-3 inches of rain to the watch area. Given the wet antecedent conditions and already high flows, minor to moderate river flooding is expected across much of the CT river.
